Perspective…

So in our haste to be Americans we killed a Wal-Mart employee (http://mobile.nytimes.com/2008/11/29/business/29walmart.xml). Aren’t we so proud?

All over the globe, people are patiently standing in line for things to help them survive: Water, food, basic healthcare. But we will trample others in our pursuit of a great deal on a DVD player. Isn’t that just reflective of our collective National perspective?

Our Bush administration started off with an emphasis on core values. But then they consistently behaved incongruently by advocating and assuring the selfishness of their friends and themselves. They marveled at how our global neighbors thought poorly of us and attacked us whenever possible. They even formed a division of Homeland Security to help protect us from the craziness around the globe. They did not see that our core values aren’t the values of our parents and grandparents. They did not see that we are the crazy ones.

Black Friday really is the right nickname for this special day. Aren’t we proud?

The item below, along with a nice letter of invitation, arrived in the mail yesterday. This can’t be good news.
