Lots of activity, no progress. Instructions being provided via megaphone by people who are assuming the rest of us know the plan. Well intentioned, but slightly off the mark.

Downhill Derby…

From my brother

The 2009 Downhill Derby is one week away!

Yes, it is time to get back together for a day of fun, friends, and gravity car racing! The Downhill Derby is Saturday, July 11, 2009. We are asking that parents fill out a registration form for each child/competitor. The registration form can be downloaded at http://www.downhillderby.com. Please complete the registration form and bring it to the derby on race day.

So brush the dust off of your derby car(s), grease the wheels, and join us for the 2009 Downhill Derby. If you don’t have a car, it is not too late to build one. Last year, some of the best cars were put together in a couple of evenings.

We will again have several age brackets so there will be many opportunities to become a track champion. A $10 donation per racer will be gladly accepted to cover some of the costs of the event, but all racers are welcome.

A portable toilet and hand washing station will be available. Competitors will again be able to build an award winning Derby snack, and take home a few derby souvenirs and prizes as well.

Check out http://www.downhillderby.com for race details and to see photos from last year!

Bring a lawn chair, your camera, and enjoy a day of downhill racing! Hope to see you at the 2009 Downhill Derby!

Please forward this [information] to other young racers in our community that might like to join in the fun!
